6.04 Weekend at Bobby's
Oct. 16th, 2010 09:30 amLOL, I'm easily amused, I guess,
I found that loltastic in a fifties kind of way. It reminded me of that Star Trek TOS episode with Gary Seven and the Ditzy Secretary Girl. For some reason Ditzy Secretary Girl was one of a very few female TOS characters that didn't squick me, perhaps because despite the ditz, she turned out to be brave and resourceful. Also, I was only 10 or 11 at the time that aired, so my understanding of women's issues was sketchy.
It was fun to see Crowley again. Heeee!
When Bobby was killing whatever the monster was, I was saying "if only the neighbor lady would come rushing out and help him now" and for a moment I thought that might actually happen. Rats. I would have liked Bobby to have a hunter girlfriend, someone who seemed ordinary but rose to the occasion. Oh well.
I was prepared for this one to have nothing to do with my Sam 'n Dean show, so that part didn't really bother me. I have high hopes they will make it up to me next episode.

Date: 2010-10-17 09:36 pm (UTC)I was reflecting on the curious world of television recently, as I was watching Terriers, because they had this old friend of one of the characters and he just so happened to be black, but like almost all black characters on white shows, he was old buddies with the white guy, and completely cut off from other black people. It is so bizarre and unreal.
