So yesterday I was just innocently using my laptop, which, by the by, came preloaded with the infamous Windows Vista

I was having trouble with the router so I trudged downstairs and unplugged it for a couple of minutes and then restarted my computer as usual, when a message box pops up informing me that my copy of windows is not genuine. So I close the message box and all appears to be well. Buuuut then a couple of hours later I lost my internet connection again and had to re restart and this time windows wouldn't load.

So I spent 40 minutes or so fucking around before I reentered my product key, which seemed to fix the problem. Except the message "This copy of windows is not genuine" is still visible on my desktop. Looking around, I've discovered many people running Vista have had this problem, and it looks like the fix is hardly ever so simple as reentering your product key.

Now I'm scared to turn my laptop off. Maybe restarting will get rid of the annoying little accusation, but maybe it will more persistently refuse to load windows, as has apparently happened to a lot of other people.

Unfortunately, if I lose my internet connection at any time today, I will have to restart. So, if there is no Sarah Connor Chronicles Newsletter posted today, it's not because I'm an irresponsible fuck up or anything, it's just Vista fucking with me.

Sigh.

Hey, thanks, but I think it's okay as long as I don't have to restart. I have everything put in that's been posted so far, and usually there aren't a lot more posts between now and the time I put it up so I think I'll be able to do it. Hope I'm not jinxing myself here.

Copy protection is the offspring of the devil and can just go fuck off and die. It only hinders the people who are trying to do the right thing. (I bought a copy of Windows, but I run a pirated one. Because seriously, it's EASIER) Good luck.
