Summary: John is such a good buddy.
Rodney, flat on his back, stretched his legs out with a self-satisfied sigh. He’d slept well, worn out from their hike tracking Jennifer on the planet and the fight with the Wraith. He smiled down at the top of John’s head, which was pressed up against his side. John was strangely cuddly in bed. Things went so much better with the whole dating thing when he wasn’t acting desperate, and regular sex with John took the edge off and allowed him to take things slowly with Jennifer.
He sensed he was winning out over Ronon. Jennifer had saved the teleportation device for him; clearly she’d had her mind on him while on the run.
This fuck buddy idea of John’s was the best ever. It had been great after all the running and fighting to come back to his room and find John waiting. He’d been too tired to do much in bed, but John had incredible patience for cock sucking, and he’d given Rodney one of his fantastically long, slow blow jobs. Afterwards, he’d turned aside Rodney’s offer to get him off with a little hand job, saying he was tired and curling up with one hand draped over Rodney’s chest. John had been looking tired a lot lately. Maybe all the stress of life in the Pegasus Galaxy was getting to him.
He patted John’s ridiculous hair fondly. They would have to stop once things got more serious with Jennifer, of course, but that was the beauty of being fuck buddies. They’d go back to being best friends, and he’d have a steady girlfriend. Everything was looking great.
John’s hands tightened around him, fingers clinging sleepily when Rodney sat up, and he had to peel each finger off in order to get up. His day off was over and it was time to get back to work.
He could feel John watching him get dressed when he came out of the bathroom after washing up. “Bathroom’s empty,” he said. John always got up whenever he did. But John continued watching him silently as he gathered up the things he wanted to take down to the lab. It was starting to make him a little uncomfortable. “What?”
John shrugged. “Nothing.” He rolled to his feet in that annoyingly graceful way he had and headed for the bathroom. He looked like he hadn’t slept well.
“Hey,” Rodney said. He leaned in and gave John a kiss. It still surprised him how much John liked to kiss, little short kisses as much as real kissing during sex. John was a strange guy. “I’ve got to go,” he said, gesturing toward the door awkwardly.
John was chewing his lower lip in that cute way he had. “Yeah, sure,” he said. “I’ll see you later.”
Rodney smiled as he made his way down to the lab to drop off his stuff before breakfast. John always made everything easy. It was going to be another great day.
