Title: A Little Bit of Information
Author: keefaq
Disclaimer: Transformative work
Word Count- ~200 words
Spoilers: Outcast
Summary: Missing scene for Outcast
Ronon watched Sheppard standing over the casket for a minute before turning away. A man needed a little space at times like this. He pretended not to notice Sheppard’s brother approaching him until they were standing side by side.
“So,” Dave said, brushing his hand across the back of his neck in a way that was familiar to Ronon. “Where are you from?”
Ronon shrugged, knowing the gesture tended to discourage conversation.
Dave crossed his arms, looked out toward the pasture fence and made a little huffing noise. “How long have you been sleeping with my brother?”
Earth people were so strange. They had all sorts of elaborate rules for eating and dressing and other unimportant matters, but they could be incredibly rude when it came to things best kept private. “I’m not sleeping with Sheppard.”
Dave repeated the little huff. “We all know about John,” he said. “ He’s always…been that way.”
“Sheppard’s a good man,” Ronon said. “I’m not sleeping with him.” He glared at Dave, who took a step back.
“Okay, sorry,” he said. “I get it, it’s none of my business.” He pointed toward the food tables. “Why don’t you help yourself to the buffet?”
As Ronon filled his plate he thought about what Dave had said. McKay was going to be very happy to hear this little bit of information.

Date: 2008-02-03 05:37 pm (UTC)(I remember reading a clever fans pre-view of Outcast which went along the lines of, "So John is coming all the way to this funeral with this gorgeous, hunky guy but won't tell anyone how exactly he's connected to him beyond some vague hints he works with him. Yeahhh."

Re: A Little Bit of Information - story
Date: 2008-02-28 02:41 am (UTC)To tell you the truth I feel a little weird posting my own stuff to episodefic, it seems kind of arrogant, though I did finally get up the nerve to put "Responsible" up.
Re: A Little Bit of Information - story
Date: 2008-02-28 04:03 pm (UTC)As far as "arrogant" to post your own stuff - well, I don't care *how* stories come to my attention, as long as I get to read good stories! I'm sure that almost every story that goes to the communities (rather than just being posted in people's own journals) is posted by the person who wrote it. That's just the way it's done, as you've no doubt figured out by now!
The fun comes "down the road" when you get more fabulous feedback and even find out that somebody is reccing your story! Big grin!
Have a great day!
Love, max
