Thank you dear, I appreciate it. I am on an online support group called Adoptive Families Together. Very good group, many experienced parents, but everyone is in the same boat in that there just aren't any appropriate programs for these kids.
Several of my foster kids have been diagnosed with childhood onset bipolar so I have a little bit of an idea how that goes. Medication compliance was always a big issue. It's hard to explain to someone who is not taking their medication why they should take their medication. And a lot of times they seem to have to really hit bottom before seeking help, but you probably know all this.
I think it's great that you can deal with this so matter of factly after growing up with a mentally ill parent.
