My ten year old in in a residential treatment facility. They are required to develop a discharge plan, and I have told them that he cannot come back here because we cannot get anyone to consistently provide the services he needs to remain in the community.
I have 9 children, but they are not all at home as some of them are adults. It's hard to say how many of them are living here because there is a lot of moving in and out and crashing on the couch and so on. The sibling group of 3 boys ages 9, 10 and 12 are the really violent ones.
None of our local providers feel they can meet the needs of these kids, and our local psychiatric hospital, which is only a 20 minute drive from our home, has banned them from all their programs. I don't blame the hospital, they are grossly understaffed to do funding cuts, and they just can't do it, but neither can I.
