I really loved this! She strikes me as very much an observer--which made the teasing moments she shared with her team even more precious in my eyes, because she's comfortable with them, and it shows--and in this, she reveals next to nothing about herself, even in her own musings, which really is a neat characterization choice, I like it. I absolutely LOVE stories where someone eavesdrops (by accident or on purpose) on McShep in-progress, so I thank you kindly for writing this!
