Somehow without trying I've remained unspoiled for Season 2, so I can't answer to that, but I agree that Derek's got to be feeling lost and confused.

John's character-he's young, but he's already got the charisma of a leader; and Derek is already willing to follow him.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. I'm finding this a difficult fandom to write in, maybe because I like the canon so much I don't feel a need to fix anything, but I do hope to write more of this pairing.
